About a year ago I was standing in the back of the School of Rock in South Hackensack, New Jersey. There was hardcore band after hardcore band doing a rendition of Katy Perry’s “Firework.” However, a beam of light shined through the windowless room; that was I Am Fighting.
They opened with “Believe, Believe” and I was hooked. Just as a quick overview, over the past year the band has played with Giants Stadium as their backdrop for the Bamboozle Festival and have sold out Mexicali Live a handful of times. Last night they released their new EP, Not Afraid.
Let me say this; people will have these lyrics tattooed on them. So do yourself a favor and stop listening to Adele for the umpteenth time and go to http://iamfighting.com/ or iTunes and purchase Not Afraid. If you love good pop songs with meaning, if you want to dance, or sing with the windows open while driving, this is for you. Listen now before you hear their songs being used as TV commercials (F.U.N. “We are Young”)
